5 Amazingly Good Things That Happened in 2016

Ciao lovelies! As we move into and get acclimated to 2017, we should reflect on the good things that happened in 2016. Yes, a lot of bad things happened, but a lot of amazing things happened too!

5 Amazingly Good Things That Happened in 2016

1. Manatees were removed from the endangered species list!

I am so happy about this! When I lived in Florida, you would see "No Wake" signs everywhere to protect Manatees from boat related deaths. There was also an entire "bay" dedicated to Manatees where they would spend the winters since the water was warmed by factory hot water dumping. I'm so glad that Manatees are safe now!

2. 50 Million Trees were planted in India in one day!

I applaud India for this action! The world needs more greenery! So much greenery is destroyed every day by industry and expansion. We should all appreciate the plants around us and the natural environment!

3. Harriet Tubman will be the face of the $20 Bill!

The United States of America's diversity has been displayed in various ways this year, but this one is one of the most positive ways! Many people didn't like the old face of the $20 bill, Andrew Jackson, because of his crimes against Native Americans, including the Indian Removal Act. So it's good that the new face on $20 bills won't be so controversial!

4. The National Park Service celebrated their 100th Birthday!

Did you know that on August 25, 2016, the National Park Service turned 100 years old? Their first park was Yellowstone! They are in charge of taking care of America's national parks, which keeps America green and beautiful! Congrats, National Park Service!

5. Measles were wiped out from the Americas!

A proud moment in health sciences, the measles virus has been wiped out from the Americas! This means that world health overall is improving. I hope other viruses can be purged in 2017.

What did you think was the best part of 2016?
