Welcoming Spring! Musings and Photography

Ciao lovelies! Today I'd like to share some musings on welcoming spring, my own personal ways to prepare for the coming spring, and some spring photography.

Recently I was home for a week or so for Spring Break, and most of the time it was cold. In fact, every day except for the last one was cold. So I didn’t really think of Spring in the traditional sense, which I guess is fair since the Spring Equinox isn’t until March 20th this year.

Anyway, so the last day of my Spring Break, my fiancé, bestie and I went out and about and I took some pictures of nature. I’d like to share them with you all as well as share some musings about spring, specifically about how I like to welcome spring in various little ways.

So here are the photos:

I tried to use different perspectives and compositions when taking these photos. I’m not used to flowers and nature as my subjects, usually I work with dolls as subjects, so I found this to be a little bit of a challenge, but I enjoyed challenging myself this way.

But enough about photography, let’s talk about spring and little ways to welcome spring into your life when the weather warms.

For me, naturally the first way I like to welcome spring is through fashion. Spring clothing for me is a must. My favorite piece of clothing to wear in both spring and summer is my overalls:
I just feel so comfortable in them, and they let me feel the warm breezes of spring on my legs. I like to pair the overalls with my space print shirt or other fun t-shirts.

Another element to my spring welcoming is perfume. In every season, like to wear scents to match, like for Autumn and Winter, I wear Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint. And for spring I like to pick light floral scents mixed with vanilla tones. My favorite spring scents are “Princess” by Vera Wang and Bath and Body Work’s “Beautiful Day.”

Yet another element to welcoming spring for me is Spring Cleaning. I like to clean in every season for sure, but Spring to me includes purging the mess of seasonal depression! Often when my depression gets worse in winter, I find myself making more messes, being more tired and having less energy to clean, so mess builds up. There’s just something so nice about cleaning in Spring, maybe even having the windows open to let in fresh air, going through clothes and putting aside the ones that you don’t fit anymore to donate, cleaning out craft supplies, sometimes I even clean out my computer!

Lastly, to welcome spring to me means to approach it for what it is- a fresh beginning. Every new season harkens a new chance to improve myself! Every day, even, and spring really amplifies this feeling to me.

That’s all the musings I have for today. Thanks for reading my thoughts on spring. How do you welcome the new season?
