Writing in Code + BONUS- DIY Invisible Ink – Royals Lessons!

Ciao Royals! Today’s post is about something every Royal needs to know- How to write in code!

Writing in code isn’t just for the spies anymore. Royals can use code to converse with close friends, keep other royals out of their business, even Marie Antoinette used a cipher to communicate with Axel von Fersen, her alleged lover.

The most simple (but easily broken) code is a simple number-match code. You know, A=1, B=2, and so on.

However, you can draft your own code fairly easily. All you need to do is match a number, symbol, or even another letter to each letter of the alphabet.

You could do a backwards code, A=Z, B=Y, and so on. You could do a backwards number code, A=26, B=25, and so on. You could even do symbols.

Be very sure not to leave your main cipher anywhere. You don’t want any enemies cracking your code!

Some example Ciphers:
If code writing isn’t your thing but you still need to send secret correspondence, you can try making your own invisible ink!

All you need is some lemon juice and a Q-tip!

Write your message on paper in lemon juice and let dry. Then hold over a heat source to reveal your secret message as the lemon juice browns!
