Dealing with Negativity like a ROYAL- ROYALS Lessons

Ciao royals! Today we’re talking about how to deal with negativity, like a royal.

To begin, I’d like to apologize for something in my past. In my old blog, in the old “Princess Lessons”, I called rude or cruel people “commoners” and I’d like to apologize for the classist undertones of that statement. Nobody is any lesser than anyone else, and CERTAINLY not for anything as silly as wealth or attitude. I was a young and uneducated person, who certainly did not intend to be classist and snobby, but that is no excuse. I feel the need to explain that it was part of the narrative of Princess Lessons, however this explanation does not excuse my actions. I hope you can forgive me for my past if you knew my past blog. If you didn’t, I hope you can understand that I am not perfect nor will I ever claim to be, and I have made mistakes in my past. I hope you all can forgive this transgression.

I won’t be giving any “nicknames” to rude or mean people this time, but simply talking about how to deal with negativity as a whole. As OFT is a place of positivity, I’d like to think that our royal and lovely readers would also work to spread happiness and positivity. So today we will work on how to deal with negativity WITHOUT also becoming negative ourselves, something I also need to work on. How do we deal with the negativity in the world without becoming negative ourselves?

You must remember that as a ROYAL, someone working towards living your best life, you have a certain radiance emanating from you. Others can sense when someone is trying their hardest and being their best self, and while some may find this quality in you to be lovely, as I do, others may feel jealous or want to stop you. And you must learn that dealing with those who are rude to you or mean is very, very difficult. The temptation to retaliate in a mean way is very high, and higher still is the desire to see oneself as above those who are rude.

The truth, my dear reader, is much, much more complicated. People who are rude, mean, who wrong you, they’re just the same as you and I. Humans are complex creatures with lots and LOTS of grey areas. Someone’s rudeness or cruelty could be a reaction to life circumstances that we have no clue of. Or of course, they could just be having a bad day that one particular day.

How do we avoid the temptation to retaliate to those who are rude to us? How do we continue to live our best lives without giving in to the negativity in the world? By remembering that what we put out into the world comes back to us, and that it is not our job to play the job of karma.

If someone is rude to you, do not be rude back. Do not intake any of the rudeness. Don’t even let it bother you. Imagine yourself as an impenetrable wall, and their negativity is a flimsy piece of straw thrown at stone. You must not allow one piece of straw to break down your borders. You are a strong, beautiful, and confident person, who does not allow the words of others to affect their well being.

It’s hard to get to this state, I know. I still am not fully at this state. I can still sometimes give in to the negativity of others. It takes years and years of self affirmation to get to this state.

But I believe in each and every one of you. You can do this! You can reach the state in which nothing bothers you.

For now, practice visualizations, self affirmations, and delivering love and kindness wherever you go.

  1. Every thing you have said is so true, although as you have pointed out, dealing with these things gracefully is often easier said than done. I hope that we will both continue to improve, to become truly graceful royals.
