What’s the Best Whoopie Pie in Maine?

Ciao lovelies! Today I have a travel and foodie post for you all! I went to Maine recently and tried every Whoopie Pie I could get my hands on to tell you all which Whoopie Pie is the best! I tried 5 different Whoopie Pies from various parts of Maine and rated them all out of 10.  (Read to the end to find out about our new posting schedule).

Recently my mom and I went to Maine for a week, and while we were there we tried out 5 different brands of Whoopie Pies so that we could report back to you all which ones are the best! Each Whoopie Pie will get a rating out of 10, and I will be explaining my rating for each one. Most will have an accompanying picture, but I didn’t get a picture of one of them.

This list is ordered from lowest to highest, so if you’re just dying to know which Whoopie Pie is #1 best in Maine, scroll down!

With all that out of the way, let’s eat some Whoopie Pies!

#5- Lobster Shack Whoopie Pie

4/10

Despite having almost 2x the frosting of all the other Whoopie Pies on this list, our experience with Lobster Shack’s Whoopie Pies was disappointing. We found that the cake was way too dry. I also thought that the frosting was not sweet enough. (I did, however, very much like the burger I got from there. It was very good, and a good alternative if you’re like me and don’t eat seafood.)

#4- Amato’s Whoopie Pie

6/10

While the Amato’s Whoopie Pie was a step up from the Lobster Shack’s, I still found that the cake part was too dry. However, their frosting was good and pretty sweet. (They also make a great Italian sandwich, which I highly recommend!)

#3- Steve’s Snacks Bakery Whoopie Pie

7/10

This is the one I have no picture for, sorry about that. I found that this one, while good, felt like it was missing something. It was moist and very sweet but felt a little off.  We got it at Pat’s Pizza in Scarborough.

#2- Exit 43’s Whoopie Pie

8/10

When we had this one, we thought the frosting was very good. It had some strawberry jam in it too, which elevated the other flavors and made it very tasty. However, the downfall of this one was that the cake didn’t have enough chocolate flavor.

Are you ready to find out what I think is the best Whoopie Pie in Maine?

#1- Sam’s Italian Restaurant Whoopie Pie

10/10

I loved this whoopie pie. When I say 10/10, I mean it! Sam’s Italian Restaurant, in my opinion, has the best Whoopie Pies in Maine. The Whoopie Pie I tried from Sam’s had the best chocolate flavor in the cake, amazing frosting, and a good frosting-to-cake ratio. It also just overall had the best texture too.

What do you think of this list? Do you agree, disagree? I’d love to hear from you in the comments! Whether you’re a local or a tourist, tell us where your favorite Whoopie Pie is from!
