Happy Earth Day! Fun Activities and History!

Ciao lovelies! To begin I’d like to apologize for the lack of posts last week, I got caught up with exams and final papers. Life in university sometimes overwhelms me, I apologize. But anyway I’d like to kick off today’s post! Today’s post is all about Earth Day!

What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is held on April 22nd every year. It is a day to celebrate planet Earth but also to bring awareness to issues like pollution.

The very first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970. It led to the creation of the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), as well as led to the creation of the Clean Air and Clean Water acts, and the Endangered Species act.

On Earth Day every year, “people march, sign petitions, meet with their elected officials, plant trees, clean up their towns and roads. Corporations and governments use it to make pledges and announce sustainability measures.” (According to Earth Day Network).
