Our Best Financial Tips - New Year, New You!

Ciao lovelies! Today for the New Year, New You Series, we are talking about Financial tips! Managing one’s finances is important any time but getting some tips before the New Year can be helpful too!

So today I have gathered up all our best Financial tips from past posts into one post!

-          When possible, pay in cash. This registers to your brain as more “real” than shopping with a card. It will help you not spend as much because you will feel like the money you are spending is more tangible.

-          Make sure you aren’t making an impulse purchase by simply waiting a week (or even just a day). If you still want it after that time, then it’s not an impulse and you can buy it.

-          Track your spending. If that means getting text alerts when you make purchases, do it. I even have the app for my bank, so I can see how much I have in my account at any given time.

-          When possible, shop around. If you see an item that you want online, try to see where else you can find it. Chances are you can always find it cheaper.

-          ALWAYS LOOK AT REVIEWS WHEN SHOPPING ONLINE. This is very important. You don’t want to order something, and have it not met your expectations. If the item has no reviews, don’t order it.

-          A good place to look for things like clothes, home décor, and even purses/bags is the Thrift Store! Stuff is cheap, you can sometimes find high end name brands for cheap, and if you look over items to ensure their quality, you can get good deals!

-          A good thrifting tip (but also a good tip for other stores) is to know the daily/weekly deals and markdown schedules. A good example of this is Goodwill, many goodwill stores have weekly “color” deals where clothing tagged with a certain color is 50% off.

-          Never shop while hungry! This is a huge general rule of thumb. If you shop for groceries while hungry, you will over buy!

-          Swap out bottled water for a water filter/reusable bottle. This cuts down on costs as you don’t have to keep buying bottled water over and over.

And naturally, like yesterday, we do have links for further tips!
