5 Cute Animal Facts PART 2

Ciao lovelies! Today, I’m bringing you five more cute animal facts from all over the web!

If you didn’t know, we did a cute animal facts post a little while ago, HERE. Today is time for part 2!

So let’s learn some cute things about animals!

#1- Butterflies can taste with their feet!

Despite having a long “tongue” called a proboscis for getting nectar, butterflies actually use their feet to taste! http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/butterfly Can you imagine tasting with your feet? Bleh. You’d need to be careful where you walked!

#2- The Bat Eared Fox has ears over 5 Inches Tall!

I bet they can hear everything! These cute little foxes live in Africa and look a lot like furry Chihuahuas! http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/bat-eared-fox

#3- Clouded leopards are such good swimmers that they’ve populated Islands!

Clouded leopards can apparently swim so well, scientists think that they ended up in small islands off Vietnam and Borneo by swimming there! Not to mention that they have the largest canine teeth relative to body size of the cat family! http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/clouded-leopard

#4- Fossas used to be the subject of many crazy myths!

The Fossa- top predator of Madagascar, close relative of the mongoose- used to populate many crazy myths about it! People used to believe that the Fossa emitted a scent that would put poultry to sleep. This is false, actually the Fossa emits a sour scent only when it feels threatened! http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/fossa

#5- Ocelots are picky eaters!

Ocelots (yes, they exist outside of Minecraft) are notoriously picky eaters! They will take extra time to remove all fur and feathers from prey before eating it. I wonder if they hate vegetables too. http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/ocelot
