20 Super Fun Things to Do When You’re Bored!

Ciao lovelies! It’s almost summertime and while summer brings a lot of fun, it can also bring many hours of being bored as you suddenly get large amounts of free time. So, what to do with it all? Well that’s why I’m here to help with a list of 20 things to do when you’re bored!

These first five are for someone who likes to craft!

#1- Make yourself some new jewelry! There are many jewelry DIY kits on the market, you could find some on Amazon for sure. If you already have some materials or don’t want to buy a kit, we have some jewelry DIY projects on the blog, including DIY Chokers and How To Make DIY Hot Glue Charms!

#2- Try out a new craft medium. Like Knitting, Sewing, Beading, Perler Beads, Painting, Doll Repainting…Etc. YouTube has many tutorials for new crafting mediums.

#3- Upcycle your old clothes! You could make yourself a whole new Sustainable Summer Wardrobe!

#4- Try to re-create Instagram crafts! Even if it’s not perfect, it’s a good learning experience. Similarly you could try to follow YouTube Craft tutorials.

#5- Make your own Puzzle! You can buy blank puzzles at most craft stores, and you could also make one without a blank puzzle base, simply draw a picture and color or paint it. Then glue it onto cardstock/cardboard. Cut it into pieces and now you have a puzzle to rearrange!

These next five things to do when you’re bored are for someone who loves being outside!

#6- Play hide and seek or manhunt! Gather together a group of friends and pick a location! (Like a park!) Then assign one person as the “Seeker” and have them count to ten with their eyes closed while everyone else hides. Then they can go find everyone!

#7- Riding a bike! Riding a bike through your neighborhood can be not only good exercise but a lot of fun too.

#8- Drawing with Sidewalk Chalk! If you’re allowed, use some chalk to draw fun pictures on your driveway or sidewalk!

#9- Blowing Bubbles! This may sound “childish” but blowing bubbles is an activity for great stress relief. So much so that my AP US History teacher had bubbles in her classroom for students to use before tests. Why not go outside and blow some bubbles and feel all that school stress fly away?

#10- Jump-rope! This is great for exercise and fun! If you’re feeling up to a challenge, why not try to do some tricks?

These next five are for someone who prefers to be indoors!

#11- Play with your toys/dolls! Yes, even if you’re “too old” for that stuff. Break out your old (or current) toys/dolls and have some fun! You can make up scenarios, change their clothes, even practice photography!

#12- Clean up your room! Yeah it sounds boring, but it’ll give you something to do and who knows what you’ll find as you clean?

#13- Read some books! I recommend the “Ghoulfriends Forever” Series by Gitty Daneshvari, and any Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  Personally, my favorites are “The Hound of the Baskervilles” and “The Five Orange Pips.” Oh, I also recommend the “Borrowers” Series by Mary Norton.

#14- Start a Diary! You can write about your day every day and even glue in things like photos! This will keep you from being bored for at least 30 minutes out of every day!

#15- Get dressed up! Try to make new outfits from clothes and accessories you already have, and maybe even take pictures for future reference!

These last five are for someone who is creative!

#16- Try out photography! You can just use your phone or a camera if you prefer. Try out new angles, tricks, and settings. You can use objects, dolls, or even people as your subjects!

#17- Start a blog! You could blog about whatever you’re passionate about! You can even start a lifestyle blog and write about many different topics!

#18- Color in a coloring book! You can find adult coloring books which are a little more complex or you could just color in a regular one for fun!

#19- Write a song! It can be about anything you like. Or you could for fun try to write a song about something you hate, haha.

#20- Give your room a makeover! With permission of course, you could do something as simple as change the bedding and furniture layout or go as crazy as paint!
So there’s 20 things you can do if you get bored this summer! Try them out and tell me which one you like best!
